Multi-TV IPTV: how to size your home setup
A multi-TV setup should be treated like a small home network. Every active screen adds load to the network and may use a different device.
Count simultaneous screens
The most important number is not how many TVs you own, but how many will be used at the same time.
Plan bandwidth
Add the required speed for each simultaneous stream and keep roughly 25% extra capacity for the rest of the network.
Balance Wi-Fi and Ethernet
Fixed TVs close to the router often benefit from Ethernet. Keep Wi-Fi for mobile devices or rooms where cabling is impractical.
Use similar devices when possible
Similar devices make support and updates easier. If you mix platforms, keep a note of the model and app used on every screen.
Choose the right plan
Compare the simultaneous connections you actually need instead of automatically choosing the most expensive plan.
